Strictly necessary cookies
docnez.com and the Docnez app use only strictly necessary first-party cookies and browser storage for sign-in, session management, security (including CSRF protection and two-factor authentication) and remembering signing progress. The Service cannot work without them, so they do not require consent. We use no advertising, social-media or third-party tracking cookies, and we do not use device fingerprinting.
First-party visitor counts (device ID)
To count visitors, docnez.com and the app keep a random first-party device ID in your browser's local storage (not a cookie) so each new device is counted once. It is generated in your browser, contains nothing about you, is never used for advertising or shared with anyone, and only a one-way hash of it is stored on our servers. The country, region and city are estimated from your IP address at the time of the visit; the IP address itself is not stored for visitor statistics. Visitor statistics are kept for up to 395 days.
We honour Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control: if your browser sends either signal, no visitor-count request is sent. You can also opt out on any device by opening any Docnez page with `?dnz_optout=1` added to the address, or by clearing your browser's local storage.
Changes
If we ever add non-essential cookies or third-party analytics, we will update this notice and ask for your consent first where the law requires.
